St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Bryan is holding its annual festival on Sunday, August 29th from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please come join the fun! This year’s events include chicken and ham dinner, grand raffle, silent auction, bake sale, children’s games, clowns, and a quilt raffle.

St. Paul Catholic Church in Hamler is holding their Annual Summer Festival on Sunday, September 5th.The festival will be held at the Summerfest Park, St. Rt. 109 in Hamler. Pork tenderloin and Chicken dinners will be served from 11:a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Carry-outs are available. There will be a prize raffle, bingo, kid's games, tractor mania, country store and more. A food stand will be serving hamburgers, tacos, and nacho plates from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Heartbeat of Toledo has an urgent need for diapers, formula, and wipes. Can you help Heartbeat of Toledo Pregnancy Support Center help area babies in need? In the past 12 months, Heartbeat has seen a huge surge in the number of parents coming to them for formula, diapers, and wipes for their babies. These items are given out through Heartbeat’s Heart to Heart Parent Learning Program as well as through its Emergency Services Program. Especially needed are diapers in sizes newborn, 1, 3, 4 and 5. Two different types of powdered formula are needed: Similac Advance with the blue label and lid and Similac Sensitive Isomil Soy with the pink label and orange lid. Wipes are needed in packages of about 80 count. If you can help, please call Heartbeat at 419-241-9131. Items can be dropped off at their office at 2130 Madison Ave. during business hours. Enjoy the Defiance County Fair

A regular meeting of St. Isidore Parish council was held July 29 with members present: Doug Shininger, Teresa Dietrich, Diane Hammon, Tony Shininger, Steve Coolman, Barbara Layman, Dan Stevenson, Janet Smith, Tim Grine, and Jane Guilford. Absent: Scott Graham, Jake Coolman.
Meeting called to order by President Tony Shininger. Father opened with prayer.
Finance: Yearly Financial Report was reviewed, and signed.
Maintenance: Old tables will be moved to the Bend site in the near future. Dan will then purchase new 6 foot tables to replace them.
Jake Coolman and Gary Siebert cleaned the gutters at the Bend. Thank you!
Patty Stevenson and lots of GOOD kids finished painting the altar area at the Marysdale site. Thank you!
East door at the Bend sticks. Dan will revisit it in the fall.
Decided to install a needed new 30 amp breaker at the Bend.
Scott Cheek plans to begin Aug. 1 at the Bend.
Nye was reminded to repair leaks on Marysdale’s roof.
Looking into possible rafter roof at Marysdale in the future.
Book racks are in.
An organ light was anonymously donated at the Bend. Thank you!
Christian Formation: CCD teachers met with Father the end of June all on the right track.
Council acknowledges Nick Meyer’s drive for support.
Liturgy: Council expresses joy and pride for the many grand anniversaries celebrated in the past few months!
Youth: none
Communication and Service: This past Sunday many parishioners enjoyed a great picnic. Good Weather, tons of fun, and lots of appreciated help.
July 30 is the Adoration Chapel 10 year anniversary celebration.
Family Life: none
Old Business: Council members signed the previously approved new by laws.
New Business: Due to changes in his job, Tim Grine respectfully resigned from council. The council accepted his resignation, and thanked Tim for his service.
The council will contact the elected alternate to fill this vacancy.
Council discussed ways to remind parishioners not to park in the cemetery at the Bend; a notice in the bulletin, signs, and/or railroad ties.
